If you have already tried playing casino games, you probably would agree that Omaha is one of the most exciting and fun poker games in the casino. If you are not yet familiar with this game, it is very similar to Texas Hold'em, one of the most popular casino games. However, there are some important differences between the Texas Hold'em and Omaha. If you are planning to play Omaha, it is very important to understand the rules of the game in detail. Not completely understanding it will only cause you to make a lot of mistakes and of course lose a lot of money.

Your best way to start is to practice Omaha online for free. Remember, the more plays, the more you'll get experience and the more you'll become better. It's not a good idea to sit down at the real poker table and hope for some luck. The first step to start is to understand the beginners guide to playing Omaha. You must learn a lot of rules, variations and many other things before betting on that poker table.
    Rules Of The Game

The rules of Texas Hold'em are quite similar to Omaha. Of course, you must also know the basic rules of playing poker. To start with, each player on the table is dealt four cards otherwise known as pocket cards. These cards, called starting hands, are only for the players to see thus dealt face down. The dealer will deal an additional five community cards at the table throughout the hand which all the players can use.

The concept is to get two of your four cards then from three of the five community cards and make the best five card poker hand. Remember, you must play with two cards form on hand and three from the table in Omaha, this is big variation between Texas Hold'em and Omaha.

Omaha poker uses a disc sagaming called "dealer button" to mark the dealer in every hand. The first player to sit will be the first dealer then the disc is passed clockwise. You are given four total rounds to bet and the pot is made up and started off with blinds. The small blind will be placed by the player directly at the left of the dealer button while the player to the left of the small blind will be the one to pay the big blind.

Next, the first three community cards are dealt once the betting starts going around. Then another round of betting follows. You can choose to bet, raise, fold or call. After the initial round of betting, that the player at the left of the button will be the first to act. After this round, another community card is dealt to the table after which is followed by another round. The same thing happens again as the last card is dealt at the board followed by one more betting. The players will then show their cards after the end of the hand. The highest five-card poker hand gets to take the pot.

There are some variations of Omaha though. The Pot Limit Omaha permits you to bet only not more than the pot. In Fixed Limit Omaha, there is a fixed betting structure and No Limit Omaha allows you to bet with no limit. See more
